ITR-V can not now be verified online using Aadhar card and / or net banking. This is a much awaited initiative from Income tax department which is welcomed by all income tax payers.
We are sharing with you steps on how to verify income Tax returns online Through EVC (Electronic verfication Code ) for Income tax return.
What is EVC ?
EVC is electronic verification code. EVC is a unique number linked to assessee’s PAN. One EVC can be used to validate one Income Tax return, irrespective, of assessment year or type of return.
Validity of EVC generated via Aadhaar Card will be valid only for 10 minutes and in any other case, it will be valid for 72 hours.
Which type of Income Tax Return can be verified online through EVC?
All income tax returns can be verified online through EVC except following types of income tax return.
a) Persons, whose accounts are required to be audited under Section 44AB;
b) Political parties filing their return of income in ITR-7; and
c) Companies.
EVC can be generated through these 3 steps:
After You have filed your income Tax Return, Please follow these steps to e-verify your income Tax Return online.
Step 1) Login to e-filing site , pop up will come to enter your Aadhaar card no.
Enter Aadhaar card no and captcha code.
Step 2) Open your Dashboard
Step 3) You can verify through your Aadhaar card Or you can verify through your net banking account having a verified PAN number.

- OTP will be sent at your registered mobile no.
- Enter the OTP in the box given below
Verification of ITR-V through Net Banking
- You need to login in your net banking Account.
- And enter efiling option. This will take you to efiling site.
- Please note verification throughr net banking is only possible if you have linked your PAN card with your bank account.
Income Tax return filing last date is 31st July 2016. File your return before due date.
